Star Trek Online Energy Credits can be extremely time consuming and costly to obtain. You need to spend hours of your time finding new places to explore, mastering PvP content and completing daily quests just for a few extra STO credits that will not get you any closer to that top end MK X gear. Luckily, there are many ways to make Energy credits in Star Trek Online, but you’ll need to plan well if you want to optimize how much you get for your time. Another thing you’ll want to consider is what it takes to buy cheap STO credits, something we’ll discuss shortly.

Making STO Credits

You can make Star Trek Online Energy Credits by selling the items that drop off of mobs you kill, either in space or on the ground. You can also trade items on the Exchange, buying low and selling high. However, the Exchange is buggy and has quite a few small problems that have kept many players away from it, so you’ll need to decide if it is worth your time investment. The game also awards players with STO credits and valuable badges for completing daily quests and exploration. These are fun for a while, but eventually grow repetitive as well. Those who buy cheap STO credits can skip these steps and enjoy other end-game content quickly.

How Much Does it Cost to Get Those STO Credits?

So here’s the real question. Combining game cards, the cost of the game, and the hours spent farming, how much does it really cost to get the Star Trek Online Energy Credits – and why not just spend that same money and time to buy STO credits directly from a currency reseller?

First, you have to take into account the fact that your Star Trek Online Energy Credits take time to acquire. You might spend a month or two getting enough credits to buy the MK X gear you need to start raiding. That’s a lot of time, equal to $15 per month for your membership and the $60 the game cost you in the first place. Second, what about your actual time? If you spend 5 hours a night farming for STO credits, how much value are you giving to the game – time that could be spent doing something more enjoyable than mindless farming?

Now, what you can do if you buy Star Trek Online Energy Credits. It takes five minutes, they’re delivered within a day, and the cost is really quite low considering the time saved. You can get your gear faster, save time, and get to the end-game content seamlessly. How you play the game is entirely up to you, but if you really want a nice chest of Star Trek Online Energy Credits, you may want to consider buying them outright.

Newbies to Star Trek Online need to know there are two twin currencies in the game. STO credits or Star Trek Online energy credits are one. They are what you need to earn or buy from gaming stores and sites in order to upgrade your ship and to buy new virtual vessels.

Star Trek Online Credits can be transferred or bought and sold. The other currency consists of merits, if you play as a Federation character, or honor points, if your character is Klingon.

While STO credits are the basis for buying bigger and better systems for your ship or a new ship itself, merits mean moving up in the ranks. Even as captain of your starship, you still stand ready for promotions as you play.

Al though the game launched in early 2010, numerous STO Credits Guides are available to plot a course for players poised to bring back the biggest virtual earnings fast. Some Star Trek stalwarts have complained STO credits are incoherent with the Star Trek universe.

Diehard franchise fans however, remember Star Trek Online credits keep consistency with the UFP universe, dating back at least as long ago as “The Trouble With Tribbles” episode.

It was for a few credits that Lieutenant Uhura bought the first furry mascot from Cyrano Jones on Space Station K-7.

Players who want to move ahead fast can buy STO credits from a broad variety of gaming stores. Even the massive chain of wholesale stores WalMart is making big business from the sale of Star Trek Online credits.
Some folks fancy on farming STO credits are checking out the STO credits guides which were on the market before the game even went public. Of course new expansions underway will mean newer editions beam up before you can begin barking the order to eject the warp core.

STO credits consumption will hit new heights with expected expansions to Tier 5 ships. New upgrades of tactical, science and defense systems can also be looked forward to before long and that means game gold will continue as a hot commodity.

With Star Trek Online credits craved to bring bigger bang to the game the market to sell and buy STO credits can be expected to grow. As long as STO credits can be transferred you can be sure I’ll be buying my fair share. With 5 million STO credits available for about $40, why would you not want to buy your way into a better game fast? Resistance is futile.
